Gene Henslee
Imperial Record # 8227 - 1954
Dig'n Datin' / A Girl Named Heart Brake
Let's have a hillbilly riot with the great king of Imperial Rockabillies Gene Henslee.
Dig'n Datin' recorded in Oklahoma or Texas and is a true blast off record when he tells us he wants a Cadillac 4 miles long and a new suit and tie.
Red hot Fiddle, Piano, Steel and searing boogie guitar .....what more does a fella or gal need !
Dewey Groom(s) & His Texas Longhorns
Imperial Records # 8073 - Aug 1949
Side A - Butane Blues
Side B - Can't Win For Losing You
Just flippin' glorious is this release from Dewey and the boys! snappy lead guitar on this tale of woe of freezing your butt off without that butane to heat your shack! Bluesy guitar with wailing steel all mixed in with fine production! another hit from Imperial.
Billy Briggs with String Band
Imperial Records # 8104 - March 1951
Side A - Chew Tobacco Rag
Side B - It's A Crime
Classic Imperial Rockabilly that had all us young cats boppin' in the early 80's! novelty record that is actually a classic, this one bops, chugs and spits out a pure county groove! amazing that this was recorded in early 1951.

Jimmy Stone - Imperial Record # 8137 - 1952
Side A - Midnight Boogie
Side B - Satisfied
Pretty sure this is the same Jimmy Stone who saw a release in 1957 on the 'Gone' label with the great echo laden rockin' tune 'Found'.
There is only one word that can describe 'Midnight Boogie' and that is AMAZING!!! You won't hear a better bluesy proto Rockabilly guitar sound on the opening solo.....just damn damn damn AMAZING!!! this is followed by superb fiddle and Jimmy with his strong vocal .....it really is killer boogie!
